New Song to the Lord ... Contemporary Hymns to Traditional Tunes

Composed by the Rev. Canon Mark Kinghan, Priest in Charge of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Uxbridge, Ontario, Anglican Diocese of Toronto. In planning worship, I find that there are some passages of scripture which have few hymns associated with them. In such cases, as the spirit moves, I have enjoyed writing the text to hymns which are set to traditional tunes. I'd appreciate hearing your comments and feedback. Let us "Sing to the Lord and bless God's name!"

The Reverend Canon Mark Kinghan
Ordained a Deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada in 1989 and a priest in 1990, I have served at All Saint's, Whitby, St. John's, Weston (a suburb of Toronto), St. Mary's, Richmond Hill, St. George on Yonge in North York, and currently at St. Paul's, Uxbridge, all in the Diocese of Toronto. I received my Master of Divinity from Huron College in London Ontario. Through a love of music, I have learned to play the piano and pipe organ and enjoy singing. This has led to my interest in the place of music within the liturgies in the church.
